Installation

The Recoup Series are Waste Water Heat Recovery Systems (WWHRS) for shower water, meaning they recover heat from the warm waste water from a shower as it passes through our system before going to the drainage system for the property.

The pre-heated water then supplies the mains cold feed to the shower and/or either the Domestic Hot Water (DHW) heater. The DHW heater could be:

  • Unvented hot water cylinder
  • Combination boiler
  • Thermal store (mains fed)
  • Heat Interface Unit (HIU) on a district heating scheme

Note: the DHW heater must be a mains pressure system and be able to accept pre-heated cold water.

Methods of Installation (see diagrams above)

Our WWHRS can be installed in 3 different ways:

  • System A - A Balanced system that feeds both the water heater and shower
  • System B - An unbalanced system that feeds the shower only
  • System C - An unbalanced system that feeds the water heater only

The performance for systems A, B & C are all fully tested, validated and are recognised through SAP, however system A produces the highest efficiencies in every case.
